The Top DIY Hair Growth Remedies


I know we have all heard it a million times over, ‘Top Hair Growth,’ Grow Hair Faster,’ ‘This Really Works,’ ‘DIY,’ etc. etc.


Let me tell you, I have so many friends who say that they want longer, thicker, shinier, younger, more beautiful hair. It’s common and you’re not alone. So

, let’s find a solution.


I sifted through all of the trite jargon out there, and here are the best ideas for your easiest, most effective hair growth options, in no particular order:


  1. Eggs
  2. Olive Oil
  3. Avocado
  4. A Healthy Diet

Now let’s dig a little further into each particular treatment. I’ll try to keep it short and sweet…


Eggs


Mix together one egg yolk and a tablespoon of a hair oil of your choice, (I like coconut), and two tablespoons of water. Apply on wet hair, massage scalp, and allow it to sit for at least 30 minutes. Protein, like egg is great for thicker and stronger hair. Wash your hair with lukewarm water and shampoo, avoid hot water, unless you want a fried egg on your head. (lol)


Olive Oil


Massage your hair with desired amount of warm olive oil and leave on for 30+ minutes. Or, you can even leave the oil in your hair overnight, (be sure to wear a shower cap). Rinse out the oil and wash your hair with a mild shampoo. Another variation is to add honey to the mixture, and repeat steps above. Olive oil will soften, strengthen and fluff up your hair body. I love this one!


Avocado


Take one avocado, one banana and one tablespoon of Olive Oil. Combine the mixture until mashed and easy to apply to the hair. Massage the mixture into your scalp and leave on hair for at least 30 minutes. Rinse and shampoo your hair like normal. The vitamin E in avocados adds to the overall health of the hair shaft and it will moisturize your strands.


A Healthy Diet


There’s definitely something to be said for a healthy, clean, regular diet. For example, when I did a three day juice cleanse, my skin and hair never looked better, and that was only 3 days! A healthy diet, full of protein, B vitamins, and various minerals, is key to healthy, thick, beautiful hair. You can add more eggs, milk, yogurt, fatty fish, beans, poultry, nuts, seeds, legumes, whole grains and fresh green super food vegetables to your regular diet to achieve this. Not only will you look better, but you’ll feel incredible with more energy. I did the Whole30, and got a boost of new energy!

Mayonnaise and Olive Oil


With 1/2 a cup of Olive Oil and 1/2 a cup of Mayonnaise, you will combine the ingredients until smooth. Apply the mixture to your hair from root to tip and leave on the treatment for 30 minutes. To enhance the moisture effects, you can wrap your hair in a hot towel. Then, wash your hair with a mild sulfate-free shampoo. Mayonnaise gives a shine and softness to your hair. It’s no longer just your grandma’s hair mask!
