Stretch marks occur when a person gains a lot of weight and then lose it (like during pregnancy). The skin loses elasticity and doesn’t return to its previous condition, and usually the red purple scars results.
1. A good diet, rich in fruits and vegetables, is a good way to prevent stretch marks. It needs to be rich in vitamin E, vitamin C, zinc and silicon. Foods containing these nutrients help the skin retain its elasticity and to return to its original shape when the baby is born. Staying well hydrated can help, too.
2. Use lotions or creams containing vitamin E, emu oil, cocoa butter or germ wheat oil in order to prevent stretch marks and to help rejuvenate your skin after pregnancy. Although these products don’t eliminate stretch marks completely, they will help minimize their appearance.
3. Talk to your doctor to prescribe you a cream that contains Retin-A. Retin-A is known for making stretch marks disappear after pregnancy and it reduces the severity of the remaining ones. Retin-A is not recommended during pregnancy.
4. Consider laser treatment to remove stretch marks and scars after pregnancy. However, these treatments are expensive and are not covered by the medical insurance. Alternatively, you
