NOTE:This post was originally written in July 2015 and featured the following ten products. I have now updated this post to feature only seven products, but some of the products below are still featured in the updated post!

This whole kit is filled with the best drugstore products out there, and only totals up to US$50-70! That amounts to getting only about two or three products at Sephora – maybe only one! Crazy how you can get these 10 amazing products for only $70 or less! (Note: Drugstore prices will vary from store to store!)

Check out the list below:

  1. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer (US$6.99)
  2. Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder (US$15.50)
  3. Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara (US$12)
  4. Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter (US$4.29)

Best thing is, these products are available all over the world, not just the US!

Great coverage? Check. Wide shade range? Check. Lightweight-feel on the skin? Check!

This is my current favorite drugstore foundation, and even though I have dry skin, its semi-matte finish doesn’t make my skin feel dehydrated or look completely matte at all.

I still love the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation, reviewed here, but this brand is much more accessible in most countries.

Check out my review on the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation!

This concealer is very comparable to the high-end cult favorite NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and I would highly recommend this because it works beautifully as an under eye concealer and a spot/blemish concealer. It’s not drying on the skin and won’t accentuate flaky skin. It has a doe-foot applicator which makes application so much easier.

Another one I would recommend if you have drier skin is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer (US$8.99). Although it is targeted for the undereyes, it actually works incredibly well on blemishes too! It’s actually my personal favorite because I have dry skin. This has a much more hydrating formula than the Fit Me concealer.

In my original post, I recommended the Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder (US$4.99), which is truly one of the best translucent setting powders of all time!

However, I find that I like this powder a bit more because it gives the skin a healthy glow, and gives it a little bit more coverage. It sets makeup really, really well too!

If you prefer a translucent setting powder, then go with the Rimmel one!

I originally recommended the Milani Baked Powder Blush because it is highly comparable to (or even better than) high end/luxury blushes.

However, I’ve decided to include the Rimmel Kit this time because (1) the brand is much more accessible in countries other than the US, and (2) the kit includes a blush, bronzer and highlighter! You basically get three products in one, so you won’t need to invest in a separate highlighter and bronzer!

The highlighter is not an over-the-top, super-glowy kind of a highlighter. It’s very soft and diffused, so it’s great for beginners! You can also use this on your eyes’ inner corners and the bridge of your nose.

As a makeup newbie, I know how intimidating and challenging eyeshadow and eyeliner application could be!

To save you the hassle of having to use multiple products to get your eye makeup done, get one of Rimmel’s double ended eyeshadow and eyeliner sticks!

If you get this exact color, apply the lighter copper color all over the

lids and blend it out with your fingers. Then simply use the brown liner on the other end (the end with the sharper point) to line your upper and lower lashlines! Since it’s very creamy, it’s very forgiving and it’ll be easy for you to fix your mistakes.

Check out my review of the whole range here!

If you haven’t, check out my Top 10 Best Drugstore Makeup list here! The Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara is hands down my favorite mascara from the drugstores and I raved about it on my post.

It volumizes, lengthens, separates, lasts all day, and comes in a waterproof formula as well… I never knew of a mascara that could do so many things!

When you’re new to makeup, you’d probably be a bit intimidated by bright and opaque lip colors,. Your lips would probably be a bit more sensitive than people who often wear lipstick, so lip colors can often dry out your lips.

Thus I recommend the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters because some of the shades are very wearable, MLBB (my lips but better) shades and they’re very, very moisturizing. They’re basically tinted lip balms.

So, I hope you found this helpful! Do share this with people whom you know are looking to start out their drugstore starter makeup kit!
