1. Exfoliate your skin
Exfoliating before you shave can clear away dead skin and prevent ingrown hairs.
2. Soften those hairs
Before you jump right into shaving, take some time to let the hair soak and soften in warm water for a minimum of 3 minutes.
3. Lather up
Pass on the hair conditioner and body soaps, they will just clog up your razor and and dry out your skin. Lather on a shaving cream or gel, and if your skin is irritated try pure grapeseed oil.
4. Skip scented products
Avoid using scented creams, lotions, deodorant, or perfume for an hour after shaving, they can irritate skin. Use an unscented lotion to seal in moisture.
5. Calm irritation
If you are dealing with razor burn after shaving try pouring Mylanta on a cotton ball and place it on the effected area for 5 minutes. If you have razor burn in the bikini zone try using a chilled, damp chamomile tea bag to calm the irritated area.
