With just 3 ingredients and a microwave, you can whip up this easy, indulgent 5-Minute DIY Lip Balm. It’s an affordable, all-natural way to pamper yourself or your loved ones!
With Mother’s Day on the horizon, I’m already scratching my head and trying to figure out what in the world I should get my mom. She is definitely one of those ladies who never wants or needs anything…yet she deserves everything! Since my mom isn’t a fancy make-up-wearing, spa-going, perfume-wearing type, it’s even harder to come up with little ways to show her that I love and appreciate her. That’s why I LOVE this little idea.
First of all, it’s homemade. Doesn’t every parent prefer homemade gifts from their kids (no matter how old we are)?!
Second, it’s practical. This lip balm is something that we can all use and enjoy! It’s not only a moisturizing lip balm, but it’s also a great cuticle cream. For moms like mine who spend a lot of time working in the garden, that’s an added bonus! This one product can sit on a nightstand and become a regular part of anyone’s bedtime routine.
And third, it’s EASY. I mean…3 ingredients, friends!! That’s it! And only about 5 minutes of your time. I kid you not.
Supplies Needed {contains affiliate links}:
You just need some Organic Coconut Oil (which you can order here, but I also just grab mine at the grocery store), some organic beeswax (I used this kind), and your favorite Young Living Essential Oil.
I like to make my lip balm in little metal tins like these, since it makes it easier to use as cuticle oil as well. If you prefer tubes, you can use some like these.
I love the refreshing scent of mint-flavored lip balms, so I opted to use the Young Living Peppermint Essential Oil. If you want a citrus flavor, the Lemon would be great, or lavender would work well for a peaceful, calming scent.
These lip balms would be the perfect addition to a Mother’s Day care package, or a great way to show your girlfriends that you’re thinking of them
